permaculture principles
There are many publications referring to Permaculture principles. David Holmgren's book 'Principles & Pathways Beyond Sustainability' is the one that I refer to most regularly. David was one of the co-originators of Permaculture and this book provides really in-depth examples of current thinking. The ISBN number is: 978-1-85623-052-0, Permanent Publications. Here are David's principles in summary:
Observe and interact
Catch and store energy
Obtain a yield
Apply self-regulation and accept feedback
Use and value renewable resources and services
Produce no waste
Design from patterns to details
Integrate rather than segregate
Use small and slow solutions
Use and value diversity
Use edges and value the marginal
Creatively use and respond to change
These principles may be applied in conjunction with those originally published in Introduction to Permaculture (Bill Mollison and Reny Mia Slay) and Permaculture a Designer's Manual (Bill Mollison) and Masanobu Fukuoka's Principles of Natural Farming and Permaculture.
